Provide good content, useful advice, tips to improve their business in every email. Your subscribers are always ready to read what is useful for them. It is your commitment to give it to them.
Fulfil the purpose of your ezine. If you started your opt-in list to provide tips on self improvement and your subscriber subscribes to your list hoping in mind to read same, provide the same. They will stay with you.
** Freebies.
Offer them freebies and coupons or any other incentive through your emails. Any discounts on your products, free software, free membershipsite access ...
** Catchy Subject line.
Subject line has two parts. First part is name of your subscriber. Personalize it. Every software now a days comes with personalization feature.
What is personalization: Simply make something personal. Like instead of 'Here is my newsletter', you can say 'John, Here is my newsletter'.
Second part of the subject line is the actual part that tells your subscriber, what is in that email. Use some catchy words that interests your subscriber.
'John, Want to improve your site traffic 800% with Ten steps?'
** In 'From' area of the email, always try to keep your name or your company name.
When your email is displayed to your subscriber, it will show 'From' field and 'Subject' field. So in this 'From' field, keep your name or company name. Soon your subscribers accustomed to your name. This is one of the methods for branding yourself or your company.
** Tell the date of your ezine publication.
This makes them to look for it after certain period of time. Unknowingly they will wait for your ezine. No, I am not kidding .. I subscribed to an ezine. Publisher used to send it every monday morning. Every monday morning before I open my email, I'd know there will be his email.
** Scheduling your emails.
Time of your ezine or promotional email delivery to your subscribers inboxes counts a lot sometimes. Some people prefer to read them in weekends. Some prefer to read them in week days. Ask them if they like to recieve your emails at any particular time of the week.
You can work out like this. You can keep a form on your website with first name and email address areas. A dropdown box/checkboxes with the options of weekday and weekend delivery of the ezine.
Depending on their choice, they will subscribed to two different lists.
You can send them the same ezine on two different days or schedule your software to send that way.
** Conduct a contest through your emails.
Like they have to open a series of emails to click on a link and tell you how each time the web page is changing or something like that.
** Accept free ads from your subscribers.
They will develop interest in opening and see other's ads and how they look like.
** Accept articles from your subscribers.
This develops interactivity between subscribers and ezine. Subscribers feel like they are actually partipitating in your publication.
** Discuss about the ezine niche.
After you get some subscribers like 500 or 1000, start discussion forum to discuss the articles, problem and solution seeking, discussion on your ezine niche. This way your subscribers will be more interactive with the ezine.
You don't have to follow everything above said and think out of the above possibilities to get your own ideas. Afterall you are publishing your ezine to provide useful content, develop a relationship with your subscriber and don't forget ... to promote your products. So make every effort to make your opt-in list email/ezine is subscriber focused.
