Multiple Folder protection script! With
complete Control on Your members access to your protected folders or
downloads!
How cloacking works
and why You need this?:
Example: You have a product like 'product1'
folder. You will keep a form on your web site like
'yourdomain.com/thankyou/product1.html' for Member registrations.
People redirected to this registration form after purchasing to
register themselves.
People can pass on this URL to others, to register to your product and
get access to your 'product1' folder. This is where the the script
protects this 'product1.html' registration page.
The 'yourdomain.com/thankyou/product1.html' is generated like
'http://www.yourdomain/thankyou/product1/jENyXuHYjy8AsUho.html'. This
will expire after certain period set by You. So nobody can pass on your
registration forms or thankyou.html pages.
How link protection
or URL ptotection works:
There are two basic ways of
protection with iPassword Protection Pro:
1. .htaccess protection
2. (http load) hide url option with advanced URL protection options
1. .htaccess is one of protection options, it will work only if your
webserver support it (it's apache server thing), and if used, browser
will show popup authorization box any time user tries to access any
file in protected directory. Then using this option you dont need to
put login form anythere on your site, just direct link to prorected
area. Please note, some real-time iPassword
Protection Pro functions like login expiration and access logging will
not work with .htaccess protection.
2. You can also use built-in iPassword Protection Pro hide URL
protection. It means iPassword Protection Pro will hide real URL of
protected area pages and no one will know how to access protected pages
without loggin in. One of most secure ways to
protect member's area URL is 'http load' hide URL option. It
automatically involves advanced URL protection options which allow you
to protect multiple pages in member's area. URL protection is activated
automatically if you select 'http load' as hide URL option.
URL protection is working the following way:
When someone logins to protected area, iPassword Protection Pro script
will load protected area entrance page, encode all links on this page
and then show it to the visitor. Then visitor click on encoded link,
iPassword Protection Pro will decode it, load required page, encode all
links again and show it to visitor and so on until 'protection depth'
setting is reached.
Example: Say You have to protect Your ebook downloads like
http://www.yourdomain.com/members/ebooks/ebook.zip. All You have to do
is set up the Page load(http) method in the script admin panel. When
your members click on the link to download the ebook, the link in the
address bar will be
'http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/ipppro/auth.cgi?action=browse&
acc=test&login=member&page=
1-1067361260-APB7upmMUkJLk-6f7b827f453b357d80792f6c707f7678
763685757a74723d6c7a72347c657b7c787971377c6f7f7b3770827a74-4399'.
The direct URL of the download was hidden by
the script and this URL no longer works after the time set by You.
You can protect all pages, downloads in your
members area or You can specify which files you want to protect.
Protect URL path limit field can
be used to protect only links on specific area to save your server
resources. For example if you set it to
'http://yourserver.com/private/' iPassword Protection Pro will encode
link to 'http://yourserver.com/private/page.html' and will not encode
links to 'http://yourserver.com/index.html' or 'http://otherserver.com'.
Protecting specific files:
Protect file types can be used to protect links to specified file
types, for example setting it to ".htm, html" will only protect these
file types.
